PRINCIPAL DANCER WITH THE HAMBURG BALLET
Team Zarely: When did you start ballet lessons?
Carolina Aguero: At the age of 3 my mom decided to send me to Argentinian folklore classes (a very traditional dance in our country), because I was a very energetic girl. I started Ballet when I was 6 years old and I did different kinds of dances: classical, Spanish, tap and jazz.
Team Zarely:Did you decide to be a ballerina by yourself or was it your parents’ decision?
Carolina Aguero: When I was 13 I went to my mom and I told her "I really love Classical Ballet and I want to continue with just this and only be focused on it."

Team Zarely:What do you think is the hardest part being a principal dancer?
Carolina Aguero: Principal Dancer – it’s something I always wanted to be, and when I started doing main roles I enjoyed it very much. I always work very hard to get everything ready for the stage: The technique, the role, the makeup, the hair and to feel good and confident with myself. Ready also for anything that could happen on stage, something unexpected that could sometimes be funny or could be something new in the artistic sense.
I feel one has to tell the story to the audience as convincing and natural as possible.
Team Zarely:If any young dancers were to ask you forsome advice. What would it be?
Carolina Aguero: My advice would be "If you love to dance you should never think it’s a sacrifice - it’s a pleasure." I do and I did many sacrifices for this but no onecould take this beautiful feeling that I always have on stage: enjoying and beingmyself.
Team Zarely:What do you dream of? Any dream related to ballet or not?
Carolina Aguero: I think I have the position I always wanted, and I am very happy and proud of what I accomplished with my hard work. Of course this would be never be possible alone - my dear teachers helped me to develop and they believed in me. I thank them for that. Another dream I made was to be a mother, it issomething that I will never regret, because she teaches me how to be a goodparent and the best part of it is that she gives me a lot of energy and love, something that we always need in life.
Team Zarely:Do you have any hobbies?
Carolina Aguero: When I am free, that is not very often, I love to be with my husband my daughter and sometimes with friends, talking about anthers things. I think it is part of life and I enjoy it very much. My hobbies could be: shopping, listening music, dothings that involves using my hands like baking a cake an decorating it, sewingleotards. This makes me feel calm as my mind is happy and occupied with something else.
