Here are some tips for surviving Summer Intensive.

  1. Eat Well. One of the best things you can do for yourself is to eat well whenever you’re dancing. Rachel Fine, a former professional dancer turned Registered Dietitian Nutritionist offers some sound advice and a free course on dance nutrition and diet. Check out her website. https://dancenutrition.com/nutrition-for-dancers/
  1. Your body needs time to rest and recuperate after a long day of dancing. Give yourself the luxury of an ice bath…whatever you need to relax your muscles and give them the rest they need to rebuild, strengthen, and be ready for another day of intense work. Go to bed early if you can. Here’s a blog post that you can use as a guide to figure out how much sleep you should be getting: https://developingdancer.com/2019/01/14/how-much-sleep-do-dancers-need/
  1. Do not stress out! Ok, so you didn’t dance your best today. Your balance was off. You messed up the combination. Don’t’ worry about it. Summer Intensives should help you in your dance journey. It should be a fun experience. You should make new friends while you learn how turn and jump better. If you become anxious or upset every day, then maybe you should re-think why you want to dance.

ZARÉLY is here for you. We want you to feel your best when you dance….in the studio or on the stage. We are a dance wear company started by professional dancers for dancers. So, we know exactly where you are because we’ve already been there ourselves. We’d love to hear from you. Let us know how you’re surviving your Summer Intensive.
